I am a psychiatrist providing psychotherapy and medication management for adults based in New York State. I approach each patient as a whole person rather than a collection of symptoms or diagnoses, attending to the relationships, experiences and circumstances that shape how they feel. My work centers on understanding what is driving a patient's symptoms, how longstanding patterns may be affecting their current life, and what changes might be most helpful and meaningful to them.
I have expertise in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, insomnia and trauma-related symptoms. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals work through difficulties in their sense of self and interpersonal relationships and those needing support in challenges at work, school, and major life transitions.
My psychotherapy approach is based in using the therapeutic relationship as a platform to better understand how unconscious patterns impact daily life. I incorporate practical skills based work when problem solving is needed. I view medication as one part of treatment and consider it a tool to increase one’s capacity to better achieve their goals..
I am completing my final year of psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where I also completed medical school. I earned my undergraduate degree from New York University, where I studied Psychology and Italian Literature. Before and during medical training, i conducted research in neuropsychiatry and neuroscience, including work on deep brain stimulation, brain circuitry in depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the neuroscience of addiction.
