Dr. Jason Shimiaie is a psychiatrist in private practice in New York City specializing in the treatment of adults 18 years and older using a combination of individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. 

Dr. Shimiaie completed his residency training in Psychiatry at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where he remains on faculty as an assistant clinical professor consulting in the emergency room and inpatient settings. Prior to training in Psychiatry, he did residency training in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He graduated medical school at the Sackler School of Medicine where he researched and published in the fields of Cardiology and Urology. He completed his undergraduate education at Emory University with a major in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and spent time researching the neurological basis of memory formation.
